Tracking of your vehicle or asset is provided at predetermined intervals that are configurable in the Meta Trak Pulsar app. See 'Position Request' for further information.

In its normal state, the Meta Trak Pulsar is in deep sleep mode and wakes up at set intervals to receive pending commands, such as a request for its position or a request to activate theft mode. By default, the Meta Trak Pulsar wakes up every 8 hours to check for pending commands and reports its position once per day.

You can send a single position request command to the device, which will be executed the next time the device wakes up. The Meta Trak app will notify you when the new position report is available, or you can change how often you would like the Meta Trak Pulsar to report its position, ranging from twice a week to 24 times per day. However, it's important to note that the more frequently the device wakes up to report its position, the faster its batteries will be depleted. Further information on this can be found in the ‘Battery-life’ tab.

When theft mode is selected, the Meta Trak Pulsar will send an updated position every 60 seconds. It should only be activated in the event of an actual theft. To select theft mode, simply press the magnifying glass icon in the Pulsar app. Theft mode will be enabled at the device's next wake-up.

Theft mode can be set for a specific duration or an unlimited time. It is recommended to use the 'Time Limit' mode to prevent inadvertent battery exhaustion.

With the Meta Trak Pulsar, you have the ability to establish a Geo-Fence and receive notifications if your asset is located outside of this designated area when the device next activates. The detection of leaving the Geo-Fence is triggered by either a manual position request or the scheduled position report.

You can customise the Geo-Fence to span between 100-10,000 meters, activate theft mode automatically if your asset is detected outside of the chosen radius, and specify the duration for which you want the Geo-Fence to remain active.

The Meta Trak Pulsar is designed to offer up to 3 years of asset monitoring. The package includes a 3-year service plan (SIM data and app access). Please note that depending on device usage and environmental factors such as temperature, humidity, GSM signal strength, and satellite availability, the batteries may need to be replaced within the 3-year service period.
